Well heres the options I know ive missed some so just add put them in your post.

-
Add Merom to that list.
-
Forgot a price cut.
-
well merom is on the market yet so theirs no point that will get put in eventuallly, sony's are still cheaper than some other models.
-
The only thing missing from my SZ120P is a TV tuner. Other than that I'm pretty happy with it!
-
Mxm!!

2 x line out /in (toggable), with 3m/s ASIO drivers
1 x SPDIF
1 x S-video (in/out toggable)
More dedicated memory on the nvideo GPU.
The dedicated Magic GAate slot could be replaced with the above, and
an 7-in-one PCexpress 3/4 card could be bundled with it.
Memon...
Built-in TV receiver.
DVD/CD writer that can have the Region codes permenantly disabled... with ease.
I think this is about all for me. -
Next generation TX:

80GB hard drive
slightly smaller hinge to make the laptop even thinner

Card reader for SD....
-
lol, sorry ice-tea! I knew I forgot something, that would deffinatly be high on my list of priorities.
-
Better customer service?
-
Its already on the pollas better customer support
something I voted for -
I read halfway down the list and expected the rest of it to be hardware/software related as well. So much for being original.....
And it's leading the poll right now. That's kinda sad. -
None of the above!
#1 - A better keyboard. The old SZ was firm but didn't have enough key travel. The new SZ has good key travel but too much flex.
#2 - Longer battery life. Although the dual GPU option is nice, I feel like we've been going backwards since Banias. Who needs the fastest CPU & bus speed anyway when notebook gaming is still GPU limited? -
lol am I the only one not surprised of "better customer support"? I don't mind paying the premium if the support is good and the quality control is there.
As far as I know (having owned a VAIO laptop), these are Sony's weaknesses. They spent wayyy too much on marketing. -
BTW, add "better quality control" to the list. Sony is inconsistent in this area.
-
i think it's time for sony to use higher gpus
-
What would I like to see in a new Sony? Believe it or not, better design. Well, at least like what it used to be. Sony VAIOs used to be known for their unique and flashy designs, but lately, all I've seen from them have been... uninspiring at best. Their TX series look as great as ever, but apart from that, I just don't see any other sony deserving its pricetag.
edit: the FJ series also has a great design. Forgot to mention that. -
A Core Duo FJ with dedicated graphics would also be nice.
-
its on its way cy007 come out mid summer
-
Metamorphical Good computer user
Core Duo FJ with dedicated graphics? Hot dog, are they keeping the pinkish color?
Anyways. Sony listen up! This is what would convence me to buy a laptop from you.
15.4 widescreen WSXGA+ (A 14.1 inch model with higher res screen would also be sweet)
Core Duo or what the heck, Turion 64 X2
Moderate to good graphics
Rainbow of colors available like with the FJ
Good construction
A better keyboard
Battey Life in access of 5 hours
Good customer support
DVI port (These need to start becoming more standard)
Allow for returns on custom configs.
Atleast an actual restore disk that ships with the computer
Make sure drivers are easily accessible on your website (Don't drive me to the point where I want to blow my head off searching for Drivers.) -
it has a 7600 pretty cool eh? the FE is getting one to.
-
Metamorphical Good computer user
That is really cool. I'll be watching the FJ then.
-
Thanks for the info. Great news indeed! One thing I'm kinda confused about though. If the new FJ indeed comes equipped with a GeForce Go 7600, it'll make it near identical to the ASUS A8JM. As you might know already, ASUS manufactures Sony's FJ series of laptops. Why would they manufacture something identical for their competitor? Wouldn't that limit sales of the A8JM?
Don't get me wrong here matt, really grateful of the news here. Kind of curious why they'd do such a thing is all. -
How about a screen back that isn't as flexible as rubber and is made of the same durable aluminum as the rest of the case? This is the one thing that really ticks me off about the SZ's. Such a nice body, and such a terrible reinforced screen. One of the reasons I'm getting an IBM, needless to say.
I'd like to see the screen be a little bigger also, on a newer one. -
Yeah my FE screen is a little flimsy. looks like drivers and customer support are two of sony's weakest points
-
price cut
better gpu
actual customer support
overall contemporary hardware
smaller notebook comparable to the sz
and maybe the alcohol dspenser -
Someone please provide a link specifying the new FJ will get a dedicated graphics solution. I remember seeing the blurb and i think people are mistaken about the FJ getting the go7600.
The FE690 already has a go7600 option:

Have a look for it chase, it was in the sony forums, was something like "Sony summer" or similar
What would you like to see in a new Sony?
