No, but i think is more useful. I like big displays but also a portable laptop. I don't carry every day my laptop, so its better for me

If the new cw( 14") would have more power and mobile broadband, i think i wouldn't be any reason to buy a z, but only for extreme portability

    you joking?

Z is like 1.5kg and CW is like 2.4

    clear difference :)

none of them is meant as a desktope replacement. If you dont carry your laptop around get a FW or AW.

I agree with you, thats why i told that z is more easy to carry. But i think that if you dont carry your notebook every day bigger screen would be better.
I will describe the best notebook for me

    13-14 wide screen
    1600*900
best performance - cpu- ddr3 ram
    ssd hard disk
    mobile broaadband
    high quality and design

Wow, many different views and preferrances regarding what is "the best" laptop to be carried around on a daily basis: IMO, The Z is way too big and heavy for being a laptop for this use, and the TT is the limit. The P is a stike of genius. Hope Sony will develop this P wonder further.

Apart from a slow 32-bit-only CPU, no room for a second HD (like the TT had), the battery not being user replacable, and it costing about four times as much as comparable netbooks? Much like the P, the X has "dud" written all over it. But without the novelty factor of the P to boost sales.

My dream machine: TT form factor, Z power, no VGA or modem built-in (if you're going to tether through cables anyhow, you might as well use express cards), and a secondary hotswappable HD bay. And no OS pre-installed, but a published API for the hardware allowing better brains to write drivers than Sony's javamonkeys.

    The battery is user replaceable.

Its key downside is the Atom CPU and maybe its integrated GPU coupled with its price.

Well "mandersen" said P is a good laptop and he hopes Sony develops it further, thats why I said what about X, because X is basicly a "big" P and I do believe it is very comfortable to work on, not like P, whois physical limitations makes it a big unusable for daily work.

I see what you mean. I think the X will be more comfortable to work with, on a more intensive level. But as I machine to carry around "on the road" I think I would prefer a further developed P, precisely because of the footprint, and still useable keyboard (apart from the bad solution with the right shift key, inserted in between others keys, including being too close to the up arrow key).

I am so disappointed that the P didn't get a better processor. A 2GHz Atom processor can only do so much unless Windows 7 is lightening fast.

I agree with mandersen, the P holds a niche market. Sure, it isn't a laptop you would use hours on end... it's a laptop you can use "as needed" on the go.

If you have to void your warranty to change it, it's not user replaceable in any sane definition of the phrase.

How do you void your warranty with this?

There are no warranty seals on the bolts. Only on the CPU cooler, there are some...

If you have to void your warranty to change it, Sony wouldn't sell it to you as an optional accessory. Please go read the X thread and check out clearly the linked pictures and video, X' batteries are fully user replaceable, just like any other Sony laptop.

One of the earliest pictures/links showed how one could remove the battery in the X series.
Its like a bottom panel with the battery beneath the palm rests if I remember it correctly.

Sony is not Apple and do consider that users wish to change the battery.

On another note - they ship the X wih 2 batteries.

I am with you guys, that the P is ideal for road warriors. The form factor is just incredible. I don't know what better processor could Sony put there, when the new Atom processor N450 will come next year. I just wished that the battery life would be as good as the X or the TT.
