I don't like the fact that the Fan run's all the time...

Power plug is loosely plugged at laptop chassis- it wiggles. Techadventures:
-You know about Stamina mode?
-Also, in Vaio Control Center (VCS), you can assign an S button to toggle the Thermal Control Strategy among 3 (fan) settings. This throttles the CPU to produce less heat. Access VCS by holding down either S1 or S2. -

techadventures, like Lithium said, you can put Vaio control center on 'Silent mode' and Vista on 'Energy saving settings'. This will limit fan noise.

The card reader slot. I hope it performs better and position on a better place.
If you've owned type T and Z, you know exactly what I mean. -
Thanks guys...I have tried that and it does seem to limit the fan. The good thing is that the fan is not very noisy. How often is your fan running in power saving mode. Mine seems to run 90% of the time.

My least favorite things is the mess of ports randomly spread around the side. The HDMI hangs off the bottom and the VGA is shoved in a corner. The network port, which I use all the time, is behind a silly plastic cover. And does anyone still use modem? ever? Instead of modem, use the space for eSATA.
I think the MacBook Pro is nice how all its ports are lined up and don't seem to conflict or compete with the design. Sure, Apple have had more than their fair share of port related issues, but I think Sony could learn a few things in terms of integrating what is there. -

I don't like how the brightness setting seems to revert to 100% after reboots or waking up from sleep/hibernate.

Thanks for trying, but my power profile is set to 'No Change' for brightness (due to a previous attempt to fix this problem!)...
Any other ideas? -
I want more RAM 8 gig 16 gig would be sweet. Vista 64 is is how Vista suppose to run fast.
-
I don't like the lack of dedicated Page Up/Down Home and End keys. That really bothers me sometimes. :/

At least that's how things are in Vista. Are you using XP? I remember there is this silly "no change" option in brightness for my old S170 in XP. -
I dont like the fan to be on all the time.
I dont like my hard drive clicking. I put in the Samsung 500gb. -
Well, I wish the Canadian retail version did not come with a bilingual keyboard as standard, those extra buttons and symbols are useless to me and many others and impede slightly on the usability of the keyboard. This is the number one thing I hate about the z, but since this is the only thing that really bugs me about the laptop, I can live with it.

Well, two things. In my old S170P and XP environment, I usually specify the brightness instead of using no change. Not sure why it works or doesn't work for you, but you might want to play with it again.
Another thing, nvvsvc.exe seems to be a nVidia resident program running in Vista that allows you to switch between stamina and speed. On two occasions, I am running on Stamina normally and Windows complains that nvvsvc.exe has faild to respond and Windows has restarted it -- and my screen brightness goes to max at the same time. Might want to check how this thing is doing in XP. -

Thanks for the tip, I'll check again later when I'm with my Z. I don't really want to set a brightness level for the profile, though... just to have it remain at what I've manual set it to after a reboot (or resume or startup).
By the way, I don't think the hot-switch utility will be the culprit, as this feature isn't implemented in XP - the normal drivers are used and you need to reboot after switching to make the change between Speed-Stamina or vice versa.
What's your least favorite thing about your Z
