I've been reading about the F11 and some of its Fixes & issues.
Is the VPCF1290x the latest model in that Vaio F series lineup? Does it have any of the issues that the F11 had? Thanks in advance
-
The f1290x is the customisable F available on sonystyle.
F12 series succeeds the F11 series with what is a minor refresh including mainly changes to processor, graphics, hdd and ram.
Given that some of the F11's had to be recalled I would comfortably say that Sony would have fixed it - one recall is bad enough for any company. There was an overheat issue which was fixed by a software upgrade too.
I do know that the palm rest has been changed - the old ones on the Grey model faded or went shiny - the F12 in the states has a 'grided' design, presumably to prevent that. The Euro one has a fake leather rest.
I've had my F for about a month and it's been brilliant - pretty powerful and very neat.
I should mention the screen - US version is glossy, Euro one is matte. I would have preferred the matte, but for the money I saved, ability to buy a bigger processor and backlit keyboard - it's a decision I sleep easy with
Why go f11 when you can go f12 - it's more powerful than the Z with the i7 840qm and much cheaper. These days my iPhone is my mobile pc. -
Thanks for the rundown.
Is the screen of the F 12 Any better on the 1080P model or would it still benifit from the spider color adjustment in the F11 owners tweaks section?? -
Don't know about the spider.... The 1080 screen is very crisp but needs calibrating and switching off the Sony auto function, allowing nvidia control - this way it stays calibrated as you set it.
Whats the diference between the F11 and F1290x
