Is it worth waiting for it? Or just buy a card that will do the same trick? (for about 150$)

also, what kind of battery life are you guys getting on the SZ2XX?

    thanks!

I use a PC Card from Verizon. Would Sony have any other option but EDGE or HSDPA?

I tether my Samsung A900 EVDO cell phone via bluetooth.

Sony pissed of Verizon when they did their first Cingular deal, I don't think they have any immediate plans to offer Verizon as a result. Real shame...

Probably HSPDA in the future whenever Cingular decides to equip there towers. I got tired of waiting so I bought an A900 phone from SPRINT; which has a voice and phone-as-modem contract all for $84/month, including tax. I terminated my $81/month contract with Verizon which was just for the KPC650 card; no voice contract.
The card was faster but nowhere near as reliable. I've had the phone about a week and have yet to get disconnected via USB or Bluetooth. It is so cool opening your laptop and getting on the net without taking your phone out of your pocket or inserting a card, and the speed blows EDGE away.

I must agree, that I would find it useful if a SZ had a built in EV-DO option.
