Do we know what the release cycle is for Vaio machines? Will they refresh the Canvas every 6 months? Introduce machines on X month each year? Do we know what the schedule is yet?

I want to get the Dell XPS 15 since it's currently the best Z alternative but I guess I'm going to wait a few more months to see if Vaio offers anything.

Yeah, I follow it every day and saw. Which is another reason why I'm going to wait for Vaio. :p

The thing is, we don't really know what VAIO intends to do with the brand. I had initially though they were targeting the niche premium market but it seems that's not the case:

They've brought back the VAIO Pro as the mk2 (sturdier with upgrades) and the Fit. The best news to me is the fact that they actually take previous complaints to heart in their redesigns while Sony kind of just ignored them. It might be a matter of time before we see an S series revival or at least a 15" "ultrabook".

Well we'll see. If anyone can make a perfect laptop it's them. My dream machine would be the Canvas as an actual 14 inch laptop, plus a dGPU, and flipable.

I am also waiting to see if they will refresh their Vaio Z to skylake in Japan. For me, I think they are just testing the temperature with Canvas in the US as there are no release in europe at all.
If they don't release Z to europe, I might just have to pay a visit to japan and get it while I am there.
So I think after a few months into 2016, we can pretty much guess VAIO's intention. Let's be patient for now
