My z690 CTO got shipped from California and it sais made in USA. I assume thats where its from then. But that only really applies to putting it together i doubt any of the parts are actually manufactured there.

It depends on what market the OP is talking about too.

If it is in the U.S. market, the Vaio Z CTO is assembled in U.S.A. (San Diego, CA).
If it is in the Japanese & European market, the Vaio Z CTO is assembled in Japan.

For Vaio SR CTO & Vaio FW CTO in the U.S. market, they are assembled in the U.S.A. (San Diego, CA). I could be wrong here because, I've also read on cases where some of these are also assembled in China.

The Vaio Z pre-config models (non-Z590/Z690/Z790) are assembled in Japan.
The Vaio SR & Vaio FW pre-config models are assembled in China.

It is just the assembly that is performed here in the U.S. The U.S. & China assembly lines are still using the same component parts (with most of the components made in China).

Yes. Vaio non-SR CTO (Non-SR490/SR390) notebooks for the U.S. market are assembled in China. However, whether they're assembled in China or the U.S., you can expect the same level of high quality products. :)

The important thing is the quality that the company requires, not where the part is made. Apple gets components from China, and even made iPhones in China. Hardly anyone complains that they are crap.

Thats nothing to do with your manufacturing cause ALL iphones heat up like a kettle when using GPS.
