    hi guys,

just wondering if anyone has come across an online shop or even a normal shop in the republic of ireland or the uk that has good deals on the z-series laptops. looking to get one soon.

any help would be much appreciated. :)

It's a bit early for the best deals, but PCWB.com has a half-decent price. Sony Style has been giving 5% discount over the phone, too.

If you wait a couple of months, more retailers should be offering them at good prices.

Usually Sony reserve the top model for Sony Centres and Sony Style, though... so if you want the VGN-Z11VN/B you'll need to get it from Sony.

I am based in Ireland and was looking at the possibility of buying a Z series. However, many of the configuration options that I want, such as Blu-Ray and a 7200 rpm drive, that are available in the US are not offered on the models for sale in Ireland and the UK. For this reason I have been looking into importing the Z series from Japan through www.conics.net. There are some great deals on this website and, as many other people in these forums would probably confirm, the guy who handles international sales, Brett Bennett, is very helpful. It is possible to get a much cheaper Z series here of much higher spec than is available in Ireland, although you have to be wary of paying VAT when it comes through customs.

hey goodbingmush, cheers for the reply.

the conics.net site has the z series laptop, alright. it's not much cheaper than the laptops over here, though, because the base model isn't really that good. also, with all that worrying about paying VAT, etc. it's not looking like i'm going to order it from there. besides, i'd be happy enough with the VGN-Z11WN/B model that sony are selling in the UK/Ireland.

does anybody know of any online shops that operate within europe that will ship to ireland?
