Anyone know what type of RAM the SZ series notebooks take, and a good place to buy? Thanks,

Thanks for the links! I really want to go with the 667 RAM - has anyone here ever heard of/used Gigaram or Transcend brand RAM? Any thoughts or recommendations? Right now I'm leaning towards the Corsair RAM, as I've heard good things about them. Thanks again to all!

    I ordered from this website:

    http://www.memory4less.com/m4l_results2.asp?modelid=80017011&submit1=Next+-%3E

However, I didn't order any of the memory they have listed on that page. I called to see if they had any 667mHz RAM, and they do. Their rep promised it was compatible with SZ series and it is fully covered by their compatibilty guarantee. If it doesn't work or fit, I send it back for a 100% refund. I bought 2 1GB chips for a total of $250, shipped. UPS says I'm supposed to get it in today, so I'll report back then.

    Javier,
If i am remembering right someone(from notebookforums.com) tested their SZ 120 with 667 ram and he wrote that there is not much of a difference. He also wrote the numbers for us to compare. I can't find the thread but i am sure it is there.
    FYI.
    Thanks,
    John

Thanks guys for the info. Another quick question for those who have received the SZ. I ordered the SZ 160 with 1G - does anyone know if that's 1module of 1G or 2 modules of 512? Thanks

I just upgraded my SZ160 premium to 2GB of RAM. It came with 2 x 512MB modules.

Which I think is a waste, becuase I now have an extra GB of ram sitting on my desk. :(

And it's not like we can eBay it to other SZ owners, because all the systems come with 1GB of RAM! Hopefully there are other notebooks that can take this type of RAM...

Oh, by the way - What speed memory did you get? My 667 mHz RAM just came in, and the SZ won't take it... Sooo, I guess I'm just gonna get the 533 RAM for now... :(

    Its Mushkin 1gb PC5400 677mhz. I bought it at FRY's for $120 each.

It does say its backward compatible 533mhz, how do I find out what speed its actually running at?
