    Hey guyz,

I am planning to buy a laptop but getting confused with the models VAIO[VGN-CR24G/B] and HP Pavilion dv2601TX.

Can any one help me to decide which one would be the best to buy?

Another thing, if i upgrade my HDD and RAM, will it affect my notebook's speed any how?

    Eagerly w8ing 4 suggestions.

Please do not post the same question twice in to difference sections.

Perhaps you can try filling out the What Should I Buy FAQ, in the what should I buy section and then post your anwsers there. That way the fine members here can best help you decide which suits your life style better and even help you uncover other models you may like.

Over all I like the CR better, its a solid little notebook with a great screen. However the keyboard on the CR has a strange feeling to it. The HP Dv2601 is however thinner and lighter with a better keyboard and a nice finish. That finish on the Pavilions can get a nasty smeared look to it very quickly though.

Larger HDDs have higher platter densities so they seek faster than smaller ones. Ofcourse going to a 7200rpm is going to make the notebook seconds faster. More memory is all the better particularly with Vista.
