Hi all, new to posting in this forum. I came across these two closely priced FZ models and was hoping to get an opinion on which to buy:

    VAIO FZ190N4 T7300 2.0G 1GB 120GB DVDRW 8400M GT
    http://www.pcnation.com/web/details.asp?item=M87846
    $1,275.99

    or

    VAIO FZ190N1 T7100 1.8G 2GB 160GB DVDRW 8400M GT
    http://www.pcnation.com/web/details.asp?item=M87843
    $1,313.27

I know the first one has 1GB, but it has a faster processor (T7300). I can easily stick another 1GB in it cant I? Or should i go with the second option with the 2GB / T7100 / and larger 160GB?

Ive searched long and hard for a cheap FZ190 model and it has come down to these two. Unless any of you know where i can get a better deal! Thanks in advance

I'd say the first one and just add memory. Much easier to upgrade memory than processor.

Yep, get the N4. Easy to upgrade RAM in the future, and if you run out of space with the 120GB hard disk, you can always get a second external one.

I'd say the N1. Why? I am willing to bet you will notice the difference in having less memory and disk space, long before you notice the difference in processor speed. Unless you are doing functions that require lots of processor speed like audio or video editing, I would challenge anyone to tell the difference between the two processors.

    My $.02.

2.0 GHz 4 MB L2 cache is not going to make a big difference than 1.8 Ghz 2 MB L2. Go with N1.
