    Which RAM for my notebook?

    Ok guys so I want to put another stick of 1gig RAM into my laptop but I havwe no iea which one I need.

    I have a Sony VAIO FE670G laptop with already 1 gig. Obviously the new stick has to match the specs of the one that I have now right? Any1 know which one I will need because I have no clue. Thanks,.

    Nearly all pentium-m has DDR2 memory. There are also two types to watch out for, DDR2-400 PC3200 and DDR2-533 PC4200. If you have centrino, you will positively have one of these. Check your manual or manufacturer's website for this info. Good luck :)

    Took a brief look at the specs to your laptop model. You'll want PC2-4200 (533 MHz) or faster. Getting a faster one is fine because its backwards compatible but you don't want a slower one for obvious reasons.

    So a SO-DIMM PC2-4200 (533 MHz) or faster. (Faster would be like PC2-5300)

    FYI: The PC2 designates it to be DDR2 standard, while PC would be DDR.

    you might also want to make sure that you actually have 1 stick of 1GB and not 2 sticks of 512MB, as most laptops do.
