I was looking for a Vaio for internet, dvds, light gaming and Sims 3.

    Sims 3 required specs are:
    Pentium 4 2.4 GHz
    2 GB memory
    GeForce Go 6200 / Radeon mobile 9600
    128 MB graphics RAM

Is CS26 good for this or should I look at something better?

shouldnt have problem to play the game for CS26.
P8600 (2.40 GHz), 3gb DDR2 RAM, and 256 mb discrete nvidia 9300gs should handle that requirement specs well.

Any of the current Vaio range will handle the game well provided it has dedicated graphics.

TT is a ultra low voltage processor - don't think it'll work too well.

Also, I believe the TT and Z are more than twice as expensive - possibly not in the OPs price range.

If you are willing to increase your budget the SR is worth a look.

Not necessarily. They might have the power to run the game well at a lower resolution, but might not be able to run it at the native resolution. The result is that the game will be rather blurry at best, unless hooked up to an external and lower resolution capable monitor.

The high-res Z, for example, can run very few games at the native resolution of 1600x900. The 9300GS-M just isn't powerful enough.

Yes you are not going to have any problems running Sims 3.
