Mainly for multi-media usage and photo editing. Down the road I might start gaming.

    Just the specs.
i5 540 with an ATI 5650, or an i7 740 with an Nvidia gt 330M.

    Thanks.

Thanks but I'm very familiar with that link and that site. But I'm asking because when they tested the F series with that the same 330M card and a i7 220 CPU it perform better than they expected.

    Here's the link.
Notebookcheck: Review Sony Vaio VPC-F11Z1/E Notebook

According to the GPU link it got a 6089 in 3DMark06, But the F series they tested with an i7 720 and the same 330M GPU scored 6511 in 3DMark06.

Look at 3D Mark Vantage. 3DMark06 is skewed by the CPU too much.

Yes your right but in their GPU link they don't include Vantage. But in their reviews they do. Will have to look at the reviews closer.

By the way I'm looking at the F series VS the EC Series. I know from the reviews I've read that the F screen is great but the EC screen is OK.

Great screen on F is only the European premium one (matte), the F model in US and all EC ones have only glossy screens.

As for multi-media usage and photo editing... those 2 video cards are absolutely identical from those 2 points of view, they make any difference while gaming.
