    Which series of FW had the HiColor screen?

    topic. What series # did they exist for?

    plus, is HiColor better than the FullHD variant seen now?

    Only the first FW series, and the FW190 only, I believe. The other screens on the first FW series were Eco screens, no where near as good.

    Having seen both the FW190 HiColor 1600x900 and the FW390 1080 screen side by side, the HiColor is definitely brighter and the resolution is more comfortable. I think that the contrast on the FullHD may have had a slight edge on the HiColor in notebookcheck specs, but the HiColor's superior brightness makes up for that -- as if the eye could actually perceive the difference in contrast the way it perceives the difference in brightness.

    Many think that the HiColor was the best screen Sony ever made (in fact a Sony rep made that statement at an expo about two years ago). Such statements have not compared the HiColor and the matte RGB that's out in Europe on the F but that screen is not (yet?) available in North America.
