Just to add to the fry (I have an SZ7 ) - I use a Sony BMS33 Bluetooth mouse - I find it is no problem to carry around, opinions will vary but that's my mouse.

May I know do you need to occupy one of your USB ports when you use your BMS33 BT mouse ?

No, as its Bluetooth - bluetooth is built into my Vaio.

It does decrease battery life a bit though - about 30 mintues less over 4 hours from an 80% charge

Also have the VX nano, got it for much less than the sony BT mouse, around 48 with taxes, plus it is more conformtable than the sony mouse, has 2 extra buttons for moving backwards and forwards in websites or in windows explorer.

scroll wheel also has 2 settings, normal and fast, which are nice touch.

In the end it should come down to how comfortable the mouse is in your hand, I tried the sony at the sonystyle store and was not happy with it.

Comfort - my Sony did take about 1 day getting used to, I suppose it depends on the user.
extra buttons - again, I wouldn't want any...

I do have to agree that the Sony mouse is expensive though.

i also like the vx nano, i have been using it for a while, and i must say its pretty cool, best feature, the dime sized receiver, the 2 diiffernt scroll is also awesome. The mouse also comes with a carrying case.

I am using the Sony Laser bt, I really like it, the shape grows on your hand. I wouldn't opt for any extra buttons either. I am really amazed at the battery life on this, I have never changed the batteries on this yet, and I have used it everyday 4-6 hours for the past 3 weeks and I have never shut off the mouse.

I don't think bluetooth mouse is a good option, IMO
I suggest you use 2.4 wireless mouse such as Logitech G7 or Razer mamba

I have the Logitech V470 Bluetooth mouse - works very well and installed easily. Nice size, batteries last about 6 months with daily use.

+1 Logitech VX Nano (Then again I'm a big fan of Logitech stuff)

Wasting 1 USB port shouldn't be such a big deal since most (if not all) laptops have atleast 2. A big bonus is the fact that the receiver is so small and you can just leave it in.

Also the dual function scroll wheel is a blessing (I'm not sure of any other brands have that as well?)
