Which... Sz340 or SZ320?

I can buy a SZ340p or SZ320p/b for about the same price. the 340 has t7200 and the 320 has a 5600 cpu, drive at least 100 gig. The 320 has 2 gig and the 340 1gig of mem, the 320 also has a Cellular built in. (not sure about the camera)

Which would be better? I am going to run vista.

 

I'd probably recommend the 320 because it has twice as much ram. However if you're planning to do things like video editing I'd get the 340 because of the faster processor.

 

Get the SZ340 and then buy an extra 1G of RAM yourself to put into it. 1G of RAM for Vista will be fine but 2GB is much much better.

 

I am buying the 320 since it has the cellular and the camera.

 

I would buy the model with less ram as upgrading the ram is far easier than upgrading the processor. I would highly recommend running Vista with over 1 gig of ram if possible with 1 gig my absolute min. Both processors will run Vista just fine however.

 

get the 320 if cellular is a must have and/or u don't want to fuss with the ram.

get the 340 if u want the faster system(not by far, and only after u upgrade the ram) and cellular is not important.

 

Now the t7200 cache on chip is 4 meg compared to the 5600 2 meg Is the 7200 just a little faster or will that cache make a noticible difference?
Also SZ320p/b is that a better case then the standard sz340p4 ?

I ordered my laptop today. CDW has a bundle deal for $1627 that includes a extra extended battery! I really dont need the extended battery and they are going for $199 on eBay! so I will sell that off on there

hey rollerbones... may be me being overly cautious but did u make sure that the "bundle" means that you get both the extended battery and the regular battery?

if they do give u both, that's a great deal

 

Yea, it is supposed to be both. I will have it tomorrow so I will let you know. That would be perfect if it is...$1627 and if I sell the batttery on ebay and get around $200 that is only $1427 for that laptop! (not bad, i already have 2 gigs of memory and a 100 gig 7200rpm drive here for it!)

 

Let me know if you're going to be selling the extended battery - might be interested.

 

I got the laptop last friday...It did come with the extended battery along with the normal battery in the package.. I am selling the extra battery for $180....Prob. list on ebay if nobody shows interest.
