well i just grinched my teeth as the cashier swiped my card in a swift action and bam my credit line just added 130 dollars this month for the Microsoft Office Home/Student software. I was looking at the specs and it says that for the OneNote Audio feature, it requires 2.0ghz...!? My soon to be Tz190 only goes up to 1.2ghz so im left puzzle as to whether to open the box or return it?

my question is, for those TZ students, does MS 2007 run smoothly without any problems? I'm afraid to open it and when i install it on the Tz it'll be slow performance and i wont be able to return it once its open. I really like the OneNote program but it requires 2.0ghz. really blows my excitement away :(

I have Office Enterprise 2007 and One Note opens and runs fairly fast on my clean Vista TZ. I don't particularly use One Note on a regular basis though, so I don't know if all its features work perfectly. I just tried opening One Note and tried typing something in one of the note boxes and no complaints. Word and Excel literally load in 1 second.

awesome, then i'll stick with it and not return it. cuz when i saw that 2.0ghz requirement, i got worried. but 1second don't sound too bad. thanks man

Yes, One Note works very well on my TZ195. However, the OP is asking about the One Note "audio feature" -- don't ever use that so don't know if it runs well.

OK. I just tried the audio feature. It is a little slow in loading (took 3-4 seconds with One Note already running) but works fine. As nonamelol and I already stated, the other Office components, including standard One Note documents work fine. I have the Enterprise edition loaded on my TZ 195 and have had no issues.

wow, did further checks on the site and it is legit. say shalimar, in the checkout cart, they had an extra option to buy the hard dvd copy and have it deliver aswell for an extra 13$. Do you know if they will send the regular seal Ultimate box that is selling at retail stores or is it just a single disc in an envelope? Like will they send me the Ultimate version in the box like the picture i posted a few post back?

For those of you that don't like office 2007's new look check out "Classic Menu For Office 2007"

    http://www.addintools.com/

it's a plugin for the entire sweet to make the menus look like 2003 and can be turned on and off according to whatever program you wish to modify

They only send you an en envelope with two DVDs. They are official DVDs but no nice retail box. It took them two months to send me mine. IMHO, it is not worth the extra money. You might as well save the downloaded office file on a disc as backup instead of buying theirs.

I'm recalling a 3-installations limit. This is just something that popped into my head and might just as well be anything else. Just a shame that I cant get that 60$ deal in Finland.. :(

EDIT: Came across this on another forum: "The MS Office 2007 Home and Student edition allows installation on 3 machines. The information should be on the side of the product
box, if I recall correctly." Hope that helps. Mind that is for Home and Student. Dunno about that ultimatedeal.

EDIT2: Yeah it was 2 licenses for the ultimatedeal(1whatever+1mobile platform)

The promotion was tested in Australia first and then came to the US. Who knows, maybe they will bring it to the EU by next year. :)

It is two installation allowance. One on a home PC and one on a mobile PC which can be easily found in the terns and condition of the promotion website.

PS. This promotion has been up for a while now and is extensively discussed in another thread. Most likely any questions you have will be in it.

    Hope this helps

since you can only install it on 2 computers. what happen when u have to reformatt one of the computer? will you then be able to install MS Ultimate again and register it for a 3rd time?

As long as you delete it from the other comp you'll be ok. Say you have it on A and B and want it to C. So you need to delete it from either A or B, after that you'll be free to install it on C.

EDIT: reread..Simple answer :yes. But ms ultimate? You mean vista ultimate? Or office enterprise? Dunno the versions but my answer goes for the office 60$ deal. Dunno about others.

so your saying if i got A and B computers register with the Microsoft office Ultimate, that is the max limit of computers i can install and use it on. And if i was to reformat computer A, and then reinstall it again on computer A, when i go to register the key, won't Microsoft see it as a 3rd registry and make it invalid because theyll think i am passing it off to other users? How would they know i deleted the earlier version in a reformat and then trying to reinstall it again?

From what i can see, all microsoft see is everytime u register the key. and since theres a limit of only 2 regestry, how they know its the same person that paided for it that is trying to register a 3rd time by reinstalling the program?

Well I dont know how they see it on their end but worst case is after you've formated you need to call in to activate. And tell them why you do so.

The hardware on your PC has a unique ID, and when you register it is registered to the hardware! So unless you change the HDD gfx card, mobo or CPU you can reformat an install office an infinite number of times on that PC!

Thats how it works for games like BioShock too!

And you can register up to 3 PC's with office 2007 home...well with th UK one at least!

However I have the Enterprise version...so I can install it on as many different PCs as I like! :p

But as I said before, I dont like Office 2007 so Im sticking with Office 2003 Enterprise...
