How do you like this display? Is it to high a resolution for a 17in LCD? How are the fonts? Blueray playback? Is it as bright as the FZ Xbrite hicolor 1280x800?
Thanks

I have it and it's awesome. Easily the best looking notebook display I've ever laid eyes on.
Too high a res for a 17"??? No way. I also have a Dell 15.1" with 1920x1200, and I don't even consider that too high. I'm a res freak, and can never have too much resolution (well, not yet anyway).
Didn't get Blu-Ray with mine, but now that BR seems on the brink of winning the format war, I'm kinda wishing I had. I can always buy it later as an upgrade, but really I don't watch a lot of movies on a notebook. I'd be more interested in a BR burner for data storage though.
Can't comment on the FZ HiColor as I haven't seen it. -
I don't have AR but I did see them on display. At its native 1920x1200 resolution, the fonts look waaay too small in my opinion. I have to squint to read texts. Brightness is excellent though as with most Sony notebooks.
The FZ is much more comfortable for reading in my opinion and it comes with Blu-Ray too.
If you do the math, the AR has 133 pixels / inch while the FZ has 98 pixels / inch. The AR pixels are 36% more crowded than the FZ. -
Like I said, I also run a Dell 15.1" notebook at 1920x1200 (which isn't nearly as bright and nice as the AR670 display), and it's fine for me even using standard DPI/font size.
As far as Blu-Ray goes, you can't get 1080p out of any lower resolution, so you're crippling your Blu-Ray viewing experience by going with a lesser display.
Who has AR with 1920x1200 Display
