I’m thinking about changing my existing Vaio GRT816S to Vaio AR11B in few weeks time. I must say GRT816S is a very impressive machine and hasn’t caused me much trouble in all this time and served well as desktop replacement. However, I feel that I need to get more RAM and better video memory. And it just feels good when you buy a new laptop after all!

What I found really surprising is that GRT816S still costs more than the AR11B. Why is that? AR11B seems to have better specs and bigger screen.

Also I’m not sure which processor is better in terms of performance: P4 or Core Duo. The problem with P4 is that originally it was designed for desktops and placing it into a laptop requires much cooling

the core duo will definitely outperform the p4. i don't know why the grt is more expensive, the ar is most certainly the superior machine.
