    Why is the 17.3" EC model lower than the 16.4" Z model?

    I was so close to placing a purchase for a 17.3 inch laptop, but why are the specifications so much lower than the 16.4 model? I wanted to also get 1080 full HD screen :(

    Because the line E is new budget line of Sony.

    PS.: It would be so great if there would be 16.4" version of Z, wouldn't be :)

    The specifications aren't that much lower, if at all - the F has better ("better" being dependant on how many cores you're going to utilise) CPU options, but the E has a better GPU option and 2x HDD bays

    Well one of the most expensive Vaios are the smallest ones ;)

    I saw one in a store and it looks much lower quality in finishes than my F. They tend to have i5 processors instead of i7 also.

    The ec is definitely a cheaper made platform vs the F.
