Hi. On my brand new Sony SR590, I cannot get the ethernet connection to run at 10/100/1000, only at 10/100. I don't see any settings for this whatsoever and I think I've looked everywhere. I have the Yukon 88e8040 card. When I bought the computer, the site says it's a GbE card! But why isn't it running at such speed?

What about the device "at the other end"?

That shouldn't matter. The device manager on my computer won't show any settings higher than 10/100. The number '1000' is nowhere to even be found! So at this point, the other end doesn't matter at all.

Hmmm... just looked at my SZ and that contains the number 1000...
    And the SZ is older.

I'm thinking, the Vaio Smart Wi-Fi/Network Utility?

In Device Mamager I assume you right clicked -> "properties" and went into the "tabs"...??

The LAN connection says that it is running at 100Mbps. When I go to device manage and click on the tab with all the options for the card, under the speed/duplex options it only gives options for 10 half-duplex, 10 full duplex, 100 half, and 100 full. That's it.

Yea I think so too. But even though I havent checked this yet, it would seem weird that the installed drivers are not correct. I JUST got this computer and everything on it is manufacturer-installed. Is it likely that Sony would install improper drivers?
