Will 12.5 mm Laptop Hard Drives fit in a Sony Vaio FW Laptop (Sony's big 16.4 inch laptop)?

I'm sorry to ask but I am getting conflicting answers when I google it.

Some say that the VGN-FW model laptops (pictured below)

fit the newer 12.5 mm height Laptop HDDs. (I really want to get a terabyte laptop hdd if I can.)

Others say that they only fit 9.5 mm height laptop HDDs. (In which I'll settle on Seagate's 500 GB Hybrid XT laptop hdd with SSD memory in it.)

Can anyone here confirm one way or the other?

Thanks so much for your help.

Seriously!! No one here knows the answer to this?

    How is that even possible.

I've seen reports that the FW has a 12.5 mm Fujitsu HDD in it already. And I've seen other reports that contradict this.

I really want to upgrade to a 1TB 12.5 mm HDD, so a response would be really helpful. Thank you.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

However, I don't need an extrernal drive, and if I did, I would just buy a 2TB 3.5" external hdd for a lot cheaper than what the 1TB 2.5" hdd would cost me.

I was really hoping someone here would know the answer to this. Lots of Sony FW owners here.

Just take the drive out and see if there's any free space? I suspect there is.
