I am currently using a standard capacity SZ battery in my S series. The standard capacity is backwards compatible with the older S series as Sony states in the product description. However the newer SZ large capacity isn't listed to work with the S series. I don't see why it can't...
Has anyone tried a newer SZ large capacity battery in a S series? I would like to know before I fork over $250+
*edit*
I guess the newer large capacity battery will work for the S.

It might be that the portion that sticks out (for a large capacity battery) interferes with the build on an older model, but not the SZ.

I picked up a large cap. battery that was made for the "S" series on clearance at Circuit City about a week ago for use on my SZ. I've had no trouble so far so it looks like the batteries are interchangeable. The specs on the VGP-BPL2 are almost the same as the VGP-BPL2C. The VGP-BPL2C has a slightly higher capacity though (7800mAh vs 7200mAh)

How much was the battery? I don't see it listed on the circuit city website.

I went to my local circuit city and they didn't have it

I have the VGN-S560P that I bought from CompUSA a couple years ago. The stock battery won't hold a charge very long anymore. Time to replace it. I found the VGP-BPL2C. Will the VGP-BPL2C battery fit and perform properly with my "S" series???
