I'm not sure whether or not it will but, it will be cheaper if you just get 2 1GB sticks. SZ ram limit is 2GB, so there's really no point in spending more on one sitck.

Yes, but if your goal is 3GB (2GB + 1GB) of memory, you can get it cheaper than the equivalent of about $700US. Check eBay.

If your goal is 2GB in total, go with 2 matched sticks. Better performance.

Right - it's a CoreDuo machine, correct? It wouldn't recognize the 2 Gb module. If you have 2 x 1 Gb now, you are probably topped out.

For those looking for a 667 2 Gb SODIMM, there are cheaper sources than Dell.

Do a search here - it is possible and it does work. I should know as I've had the configuration for close to a year.

2 very different types of memory are in question here.

wuruoyu: you are talking about Sony's Memory Sticks, which are flash memory storage cards. The thread as a whole is talking about system memory.

And as far as I know, the max for most laptops is 4GB. I do not think that the SZ will be any different.

Are you absolutely sure the SZ is capable of using more then 2GB of RAM? Sony states this is the maximum.

Not under 32-bit, no. Max you may get is about 3.5GB. 3GB usable is doable with no issues.
