100gb isn't cutting it anymore...I have a lot of school and work files...plus my photography stuff.

I'm looking into getting this drive:

    Western Digital Scorpio
    250GB 5400RPM 8MB cache
    SerialATA 150

I know it'll physically fit, but will my HDD protection still work? How would I install Vista Business (from the Sony Express DVD upgrade?) If I make a set of recover disks before swapping the HDD, can I use the DVD to load up factory software on the clean HDD?

    Thanks!
    Jeff

Yes, HDD protection and the recovery disks will still work with the new drive.

An easier way to do this is with Acronis TrueImage. Allows you to make an exact image of your current hard drive and restore to the new one.

I was considering using some sort of imaging software...but I did not know if it was dependent on me restoring the image to the same HDD or not. Thanks for the info though...I think I'll go that way so I don't have to reinstall everything!
