    Hello,

    I made this thread over on the Lenovo forums, but I wonder if those that frequent this board may be of more help - here is my delima:

    I bought a Sony Vaio with Windows 7, but the entire computer is trashed at my own expense (long story). Is there anyway to move the Windows 7 Pro operating system that came pre-loaded on the Sony Vaio to my Thinkpad T61? I have the recovery discs and all from the Vaio and also for the Thinkpad. Any ideas?

    I don't think so, the OEM install that Sony would have used means that it is only for that laptop. You'll need to buy a new copy of Windows 7.

    If you have the OEM Windows disc, I think it is possible.
    If they are recovery discs, no...
