I just got a Sony FE laptop.

When you start the computer...u see a Windows XP loading screen right..
the one right after the BIOS.

That Windows XP screen is so stretched out. Is there a way to make it centered and clear?

    Thanks.

Aren't the NVIDIA drivers installed by default, since I have the graphics card?
Isnt the default resolution also 1024x800.

Where do I adjust that setting for the resolution? Bios?

    Thanks for any help.

I checked and it is already 1024x800 at least in Windows XP itself. The problem here is that the Windows XP loading (right after BIOS) is too stretched and not centered and perfect like it should be.

Does anyone else experience this problem? Is there a fix?

It's stretched on my FE too, and i'm using a custom install. The reason for this is that the windows loading screen has a stupid resolution of 320x400 or something (For Compatibility's sake), and is scaled to the edges of the LCD.

Afaik there isn't anything you can do about it. I'm not sure that the windows bootloader thing supports different resolutions.

on other laptops (including my old Sony Vaio K) there is not a problem with the Windows XP loading screen being stretched...

    that is a bit weird
