    Hi

I have upgraded my SZ79GN to Win7, and installed all necessary drivers. (At this point I woul like to just digress and say that the Sony Asia Support site is so bad compared to the other regions like EMEA and NA - why?)

Anyway I cannot for the life of me get the Stamina - Speed switch working. So cannot turn off the Nvidia graphics card - and my fan is constantly on.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

Re-install the Sony Utilities and such, you missed something or was out of order. often just re-installing them will fix it. Be careful, at least one will uninstall every other time you install. In other words, first time it installs, second time it uninstalls, third time it installs, 4th time uninstalls. Be sure to watch. Also, sometimes they will even just stop halfway through the install. Using compatibility mode sometimes helps, but not always.

As for them being better or worse, Sony N.A. told US customers that the newest SZ wasn't able to even run Windows 7. Forget support.

    With Sony, it's a do-it-yourself laptop.
    Great laptops, horrible support.
