Thank you very much for everything, kevf74.

just did a upgrade on my fz280e to home premium 7 64 bit, clean install, and my Nvidia Geforce 8400M GT is not recognized and no drivers on mfg's site work. Help!!!
-
Silly me installed one too many utilities from the z vaio thread and caused my computer not to recognized the battery. After uninstalling the
VAIO Event Services
Setting Utility Series
Battery Checker
VAIO Power Management
I was able to get it to stop.
When I try to install my Notebook Utilities software, I get the message; "This update can only run on Windows Vista."
Here's the link to the file I was trying to install.
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNFZ430E&upd_id=3384&os_id=28
Any ideas? -
Demx, get the files from the FTP link. 32-bit Notebook utilities won't work with 64-bit. I already posted them before. Look up.
-
In the file the battery checker folder is empty and when I try to install the Power management I'm promted with cannot load the SnyUtils.dll
-
Is this really an install guide, when everyone is having problems with all the drivers? Wasnt coolguy supposed to do a write up for a FZ190 later on?
-
As I've posted several times now, this is only for the FZ 280 E/B. If you don't have that model, I make no guarantees on whether or not the drivers will work for you. I have had some success w/drivers coolguy has suggested and others I haven't. As we all try to work this out we need to realize just because you may have an FZxxx doesn't mean the drivers will work the same.
Homestead us -- feel free to start your own guide if you'd like. I just thought I'd provide a guide of what worked for me. Sorry if that didn't work out for you. Again, if you don't have my exact model I can't guarantee everything. How would I have tested the drivers on other FZ models?
....Exactly, I didn't because I only have a FZ280.
Sorry if it wasn't any help to you.
Is the link still good? If not, I'll repost again tonight. -
I am going to clean install Win 7 64-bit now and a guide + drivers link for FZ-190 will follow soon.
-
You need to install Sony shared library (new version) before installing any other Sony driver/ application.
-
Thanks that's good to know cool guy. I got the AV Mode to work on my laptop, so this might be useful for someone.
Basically you just install Instant Mode, this one worked for me.
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNFZ430E&upd_id=4404&os_id=28
Then turn off your computer and press the AV Mode button. This will then launch the Instant software, allowing you to play DVDs/CDs, music from your computer, view photos, turn the computer fully on, or turn the computer completely off. -
I've refreshed the link for the divers if anyone needed it.
-
VAIO Launcher (3.0.0.07150)
Allows you to use the AV Mode while running windows, for FZ430E/B. It might help you out as well coolguy, since you said you had trouble getting the AV Mode to run properly. -
AV mode doesn't work with Nvidia card. It just opens Windows media center.
-
Just to let people know.
I have a FZ21s
Followed all the instructions here and have all the Fn keys working with screen indication of brightness and volume.
All my buttons work apart from S1 and AV mode.
When I press S1 it thinks for a while, the arrow shows its working wheel, and nothing happens.
Thanks for all your help and looking forward to further development. -
For S button, you can refer here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=429745
-
could you repost the drivers link? i'm looking for the touchpad drivers for FZ series vaio's. my scroll function doesn't work and it's driving me insane.
working with windows 7 64bit -
This is a signed version of the 64-bit driver for the ALPS touchpad:
ftp://download.sony.com/US/pc/ALDOTH-00164344-64.EXE
--L. -
big thanks!!! that worked.
i'd still like the whole list of drivers because other items aren't working either (mem/sd card readers for one). it'd just be nice to have all the drivers at my disposal. -
I am uploading the file again. I will update the link shorty. Sorry for the delay.
**EDIT**
The link is now updated. -
THANKS!!! +10
-
Two questions for everyone who used this....
1. Was my guide helpful? This was my first attempt at a guide like this and I wondered if it was a good format, informative, etc?
2. Is there anyone who needs me to refresh the driver downloads from rapidshare?
Hope everyone is having a great holiday season! -
Can you renew the link to the drivers? Thanks!
