-Right click anywhere on your desktop, select "Personalize".
-Click on the "Desktop Background" link at the bottom of the dialog window.
-In the drop down list for "Picture Position" select an option other than "Center" or "Fit". As soon as you make your choice, your change will be cross-faded in, so you can view the different options to find the one which is right for you.

    Hope that helps!

Had to google what model PGC 6J2l is.... turns out it's an SZ, should just say that in the first place. I have SZ as well, an SZ3, installed Win 7 fine, no black borders that I noticed after reinstalling Win 7 for like.... 10x trying to make the brightness and Fn keys to work.

I install Win 7 in STAMINA mode, after it's done installing, then install some important bits like SFEP, SPIC, Event Service, etc, I switch over to SPEED, restart, and it'll start detecting the video card as it arrives on desktop. I remember the screen to be just 640 x 480 or 800 x 600... with big black borders around it. Then I installed nVidia drivers, restarted, and it looked normal.

Glad it's working out for you. My Fn somewhat works under STAMINA mode (volume and brightness) but under SPEED, brightness setting stopped working. I think I just needed to make it run in vista compatibility mode. And yes, there are no Windows 7 drivers for SZ, have to use Vista drivers and run them in vista compatibility mode. Follow this guide

There are other Windows 7 on SZ guides if you look through each page.
