    I have a Z-12, i-7, and 4g RAM.

I'm currently running Home Premium with no problems. If I upgrade to Ultimate, will it hamper my computer at all (slow or lag)?

Are there any negatives to upgrading to Ultimate?

    Thanks for your help!

My Samsung Q1 with Pentium celeron and 1gb RAM runs Windows Ultimate. I don't think you'll have any problems.

My Fujitsu S2210 (specs in sig) runs ultimate very well. If the Z doesn't run it well, then......I'd be surprised...

I ran a trial of windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my Vaio VGN-BZ560P22 for about a month to make sure everything worked out first. I made an install disk from the Windows 7 legal downloads post. http://forum.notebookreview.com/windows-os-software/428068-legal-windows-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html
I went to the Wikapedia post to get a more full featured comparison of the different windows 7 versions. Windows 7 editions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I chose the 7 Pro 64bit version a couple of weeks ago. I have 4gig of ram and everything runs great on it. Your computer has a faster processor so I would not worry about it.

Well, Ultimate does allow you to work in the language you desire without having to reset your whole machine. That's probably the best selling point of Ultimate.

i think you might miss understand. in any Win7 version you can type and read any language, the function is win7ultimate is refer to the UI only (ie, when you right click instead of view, sortby. refresh is going to change to your installed language)
