    Windows 7 Upgrade and Sony Outlet

    I have been looking at getting one of the Vaio Z series out of the Sony outlet store. Are the purchases from the outlet store eligible for the free Windows 7 upgrade?

    I did some looking around on both Sony's support site and I couldn't find a definitive answer. A Google search turned up that some Dell outlet purchases are eligible but not Lenovo outlet purchases.

    Isn't Windows 7 releasing like next month? I think that promotion ended, but I don't know, just ask lol!

    As it turns out I did try calling but they were closed. It was almost midnight when I posted my question. I figured some one on here might know the answer.

    No the promotion is ongoing until the end of October. If I order a new SR I know I can get the free upgrade but I wasn't sure about the outlet purchases. As I said in my original post, I found that some manufacturers do not have the free upgrade for outlet purchases and I couldn't find anything about Sony.

    For those that may be curious, Sony Outlet purchases are not eligible for the free Windows 7 upgrade.
