i installed a fresh copy of windows8 (not upgraded, formatted the lap and installed). at the time i lost all the drivers and apps i installed in ma vaio.
later i downloaded them from vaio site and installed each one.but now vaio wireless switching utility is missing in ma lap. switcher.exe is the problem i think.
what should i do?? i cant use wifi now. it always says that wifi is turned off. the os is not detecting the wireless switch on ma vaio..
where can i download wireless switching utility and switcher for my model?? plz help me...

I've contacted Sony about these issues and they've been zero help. It seems that they're just too lazy to put some drivers online to make it fully functional with a clean install. My only suggestion is to do a factory reset, then upgrade to Windows 8 and painfully remove all of the crapware.

meh sony doesnt seem to helping out as well. their notices for driver updates are so far behind as well, like 2007 and all. last thing i wanna do is go back to win7.. not tht win7 is bad, but i am liking win8 more

Have you guys looked in the sticky thread for links on how to do a clean install of Windows 7 on your model? The procedure for doing a clean install of Windows 8 is more or less the same. As far as I know, everything works just like in Windows 7.

For the wireless switching, there is a Sony/VAIO Smart Network utility that enables that functionality. However, once your laptop is set to the configuration you want, you can uninstall it (I don't like the constant nagging to configure every new network it comes across).
