    Hello,

I bought an S series and since I already have a windows 8 license I'm planning on asking for a refund. Before completely deleting windows I want to know how the manufacturer (Sony) checks if one accepted the license agreement or not? I also heard that some manufacturers ask for some licenses files from the OS, so if I delete it I won't be entitled for a refund.

    Thanks,
    Mr. B.

You can't do anything about this., forget it.
You are probably the only person asking this.

I see that you live in the US. In Europe you can ask for a refund.

HOW? Please let me know which law I should call upon and what amount of refund I might be entitled to? Thanks!

Well, when you set up your Vaio, on the US verion there's a big acceptance Window. If you don't accept it, you can't configure Windows. And if you keep WiFi off, you can't activate it (unless you use the phone). So if you didn't accept the license terms of Windows and you didn't activate it, I guess you have a shot if your laws allow you to get a refund.

The cost of an OEM license isn't that much anyway... I think it's only $50 or so
