I have an SZ650 with the Vista Business operating system. The Windows Media Player has stopped working after 1 month. The error message gives no information as to the problem. Has anyone either experienced this problem and solved it without reinstalling the software or have a solution for it. Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean by "stopped working"? What is the error message?

At first I got an error message that essentially only indicated a malfunction. The details showed no information, but asked if I wished to have Microsoft look into the problem. I clicked yes. Now I get no error message at all, only the moving circle flashed for an instant.

You should try reinstalling it first...in many cases, it will take longer trying to figure out what is the problem without reinstalling.

i have the same problem. when i open a file with media player, i get an error message and it closes. even VLC media player has stopped playing correctly. the file will play but with no sound. on top of that, when i click on my network icon in the taskbar, it pops up "server execution failed". luckily, my xp downgrade disks should be arriving today.
