Hey folks... been awhile since I was last here... but I have a question and a sort of poll for y'all...

I installed Vista RC1 and tried it out for a while and I thought it was awesome but with the expected bugs... Who else has installed it and what were your experiences and thought... I had a few problems with IE and there was a problem with my external HDD (not a defective unit as I use in XPPro all the time)...

Secondly, now that MS has announced an official release date, who is going to take the plunge and get it and why? I am happy with XP (it works) but am undecided as to whether I am going to upgrade or not. I have read the reviews that highly recommend it, if for no other reason, than the security upgrades... but that my or may not make the case for the upgrade for me...

    Thanks,
    Don

If you are finding RC1 to be still too buggy, its possible that RC2 is a bit better. Remember I said just a "bit."

In my opinion, Vista doesn't seem to be regression (the way WinME was for 98). While it certainly isn't a great leap forward, it offers some neato tricks and improvements, while mostly improving the GUI.
