The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I believe it's up to the PC makers to decide whether or not to offer XP if you've already bought Vista.

    Lenovo's deal is pretty nice considering I've heard their CS is horrible, but I have doubts that others will follow suit readily.

    I think it's more PC makers can offer it as you configure than an obligation to already sold Vista Business/Ultimate users. But, hey, you might get lucky if Sony decides to take a page out of Lenovo's book. :D
