Hi Guys,
As a new TZ-150N/B owner, I believe I have found the best solution to the Windows XP Video Card driver issue that makes your screen fixed to 1024x768 resolution.
I tried EVERY DAMN THING mentioned in this forum and still could not get my tz-150 to stay at 1366x768 resolution in Windows XP. Uninstalling the Digital Plat Panel, disabling them, tried Hardware profile, tried all kinds of weird drivers, messed with Regedit, nothing works.
After two days of installing Vista and then XP, then going back to Vista, then hating it and installing back to XP and tear all my hair off. I found the easiest solution.
I don't know why nobody mentioned this problem when downgrading their TZ-100s, are they all happy with their 1024x768 resolution on a 1366x768 screen?!
OK, enough ranting. You know if you install SONY's XP video card driver or the Intel's latest one, your screen will be automatically resized to 1024x768.
All you have to do is, go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager.
Right click on each of the three Digital Flat Panel (1024x768) devices in the Monitor category, and select "Update Drivers".
Choose "Install from a list or specific location", and then "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install", then click NEXT.
Voila, you will see two choice, one is your Digital Flat Panel (1024x768), and another one is a Plug and Play Monitor.
Choose the 2nd one, NEXT, and YOU ARE DONE!
do the same thing for all three DFP under the Monitor device category.
You can now choose the resolution 1366x768 in Display Properties, and restarting won't affect a thing : D
The reason was that even though the video adapter driver is installed correctly, the LCD driver itself is restricting the adapter from using the higher resolutions, once you force Windows to use a generic Monitor driver the restriction is no longer there.
Damn sony could've told us, wasted 2 days of my valuable Xmas holiday. Have fun with you now slick and 2x faster XP laptop!

Thanks Timevision, you rock and it worked like a charm! I have a TZ-160C/B and was having the same problem. Another thing to rant about. I was having a hell of a hard time trying to get the damn video drivers going as well. I read on the Sony support site you will need mutiple installs to get it going but they failed to mention that you have to install the drivers TWICE consecutively. What I was doing was installing the drivers and then thinking WTH, it's not updated so I rebooted and installed again and still nothing. Finally installing it twice consecutively, things started going, thanks Sony you're awesome! BTW even though a fresh install of XP already gives you 1366x768, you need need the Intel video drivers to get hibernation going.

Dear Timevision,
First thanks a lot, I was going crazy installing and uninstalling drivers for the monitor. I have another problem with the microphone, it does not say any error in the device manager but it seems it is not recognizing since when i try to test it it does not allo me to go into the controls, did you have that problem with the downgrade also?
thanks in advance. -
I've been stuck for weeks (literally!), dealing with the same problem on a TZ11XN/B...Thanks a lot Timevision... YOU are the MAN!!
