alright, i'm going to try this again. I have just brought my fz280e/b back from the dead. I slipstreamed an xp install disc with the sony sata driver and installed xp. once installation was completed i then tried to use the driver installs (maybe dumb?) downloaded from the sony website. none of them worked. each detected xp and errored out. does anyone know where we can get xp drivers??? Please help as i have reached my wits end....

    thanks

What errors are you getting? Did it complain about the model being incorrect or was it something else?

each install would fail with a message stating each was intended for vista (dont know the exact wording)

in looking that the link in centaurius's post i don't see my model referenced. i realize that many drivers should work for most models but don't want to compromise performance issues by using the wrong drivers. if need be i may just download them all and do a trial and error. i've brought it back to the out of box state before what's a couple more times right? lol

who knows maybe i will have to add to the archive of how to's with a process for this one. i just was hoping for an easier path.

You will find the driver for 8400M GT (XP driver) here -> http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15175 (ForceWare X 156.65) it's the one i'm using, everything's smooth.
