I have a Sony VAIO model VGN-NR485E. I must install Windows XP on this PC to work. I try to install it but the setup program don’t recognize the hard disk and to be honest that day I don’t have time to research on how to install it on this PC. If somebody has luck with this PC, please help me or I’m going to get fired.

I’m a software engineer and my work needs a stable computer. The Sony came with Windows Vista Home and I upgrade it to Vista Ultimate. The PC runs ok for everyday use like Internet surfing, MS-Office, etc. The problem starts when I need to use development tools like VMWARE Workstation or similar software. Today this Windows Vista crap crashed 3 times and I lost all my work.

    PLEASE THIS IS URGENT!!!!!!!!

    Thanks,

What do you mean the setup doesn't recognize your hard disc? Please calm down a bit and explain in a bit more detail exactly what error message or screen display you are getting so that we can help you the best we can.

When Windows XP setup loads it couldn’t find the PC hard disk like it wasn’t present. I would like to know if somebody with this model had luck installing XP on this VAIO and how stable the installation is.
