    Windows desktop screen disappears!!!!

    I have a VAIO FZ24E, i closed it once (from the button that put the laptop in low power mode) and i opened it again and after loading windows I end up having only the cursor on the screen (no desktop, no taskbar) and the folder "documents" is opened. and nothing is working!!! I need help. ThanQ

    i'm working on windows vista btw

    I don't have a solution for it but to ease the situation, you can try to run "explorer" in task manager to see if everything comes back. I can only confirm it works for XP, but it's worth trying in your situation.

    yes, i restarted many times...

    and i opened the task manager and found "explorer.exe" running...

    this is really strange!!!!

    yes, thanks a million, i did run the explorer and it worked, the first time the explorer was working, i did restart and run the explorer and it retuned back.

    apparently an updated nvidia driver fixes this issue? cant garauntee it though otherwise sounds liike a startup program, disable your startup items in msconfig and try again
