On my system the Windows experience index does not update. It always says "unrated" and "! New hardware detected".

Does anyone have this problem or a fix for it.

    You can try this:

Have you had an error where Windows Experience Index in Vista won't refresh?
Here is the fix I found with some help from a few forums.
    1. Go to C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore
    2. Delete all of the files
    3. Reboot (might not be necessary)
    4. Rerun the assesment
This was tested on an HP Laptop with Vista x64 and a GeForce Go 7600 (Nvidia).
