My laptop is giving me issues. I was on the net yesterday downloading files and when I took my laptop to work today it nolonger had the wireless adapter. I go into the device manager and its not even listed. I tried reinstalling the drivers but they wouldn't take.
I have the Sony Viao VGN-NR110E/S. I don't know what to do, right now im using my phone to tether to it so I can get the net but Its slow compared to my home network.

Have you gone through the Add Hardware wizard?
-
Yeah it doesn't find it. It acts like I never had a wireless adapter in the PC.

Try a System Restore.

Sounds like your wireless smart network program is turning off. You should have an icon for it at the bottom right of the screen open it up and enable wireless. Does that work? The wlan led should light up?
If it does work does it stay working after you reboot? -
The switch for the wireless is switched on, windows just doesn't detect the hardware. I tried installing the drivers and rebooting with no results.
Im trying to avoid a system restart due to many changes I have dones since my last... its gonna be my final option if I can fix it before the end of the night. -
there are 2 switches to turn on the wireless for the sz.
1 is a physical switch located on the right side or wherever (i have an older n series so i guess it's the same setup)
the other is program based and you have to double click an icon on your startup list or in the start menu.
if all else fails check the bios and see if your computer recognizes the hardware. check if it's a driver issue and see if windows says "working and responding properly..." something like that.
Wireless Adapter uninstalled itself, HELP!
