All,
It has been exactly 1 week since I purchased my Sony SZ 650 and I am very pleased with the laptop thus far.
One think I was hoping people could clarify for me: The SZ 650 comes equipped with Wireless A/B/G and N, correct?
I currently have a G router that is in not such good shape and I am thinking about purchasing a new router. I would like to purchase an "N" router if the SZ is N capable and I will see better speeds than with a G.
Is the SZ N ready? Also, which N router do you all recommend?
Thanks!

SZ650 with 4965AGN support a g n not b.
A lot of N router for you to choose such as airport extreme and others.
And I am sure that you will be disappointed a lot with the performance as me , no matter which one you choose.
Keep secret for the speed.. -
Personally, I'd wait until N gets full certification before pulling the trigger on a draft-N router.
I've been meaning to test out the N speeds with my laptop, but haven't had a chance to connect to an N router yet. -
Thanks guys - I appreciate the feedback.

I agree that waiting for full certification of the N standard is a better alternative than purchasing one of the current Draft-N routers.
However, if you are "forced" into a new router purchase (as I was recently), some of the draft-N routers are pretty good.
I did some research and grabbed the D-Link DIR-655 "Xtreme N Gigabit Router" ($127 from Costco) and am extremely pleased with it. Setup was easy, documentation is decent, and the performance has been outstanding. My previous Wireless G router had constant firmware-related problems and rebooting issues, and connected laptops would often lose the wireless signal, forcing me to "repair" the connection over and over. What a pain in the @ss.
The new DIR-655 has completely eliminated those problems, and the performance to my one N-compatible laptop was noticably faster than the G throughput speeds. Gotta love having gigabit LAN ports on the back, too. It also supports WPA2, which my old router did not. Finally, every wireless device I own has connected to the new DIR-655 router effortlessly, including a Dell (work) laptop, an Asus laptop, a MacBook Pro, a wireless webcam, and an iPhone. When my SZ arrives next week, I expect it will connect seamlessly, as well. The D-Link DIR-655 was the best tech purchase I've made so far this year. -
Update: Well, I was able to connect using only N mode, but speeds are still low(seems to be a problem based on searches on net) and under the available networks it shows the radio mode as G and not N. O well, I did get the speeds up there(better than G that is), so I am happier, but still some strange stuff.
I had a question about wireless with the SZ650. I just got the Dlink DIR-655 to be used with my SZ650. When I put it in 802.11n mode only, I am unable to connect to the internet through the SZ. I am only able to connect locally to the router. As soon as I enable g and n modes, I can connect again to the net. Of course, I only get G speed. Is there something I am missing here? I double checked in device manager and found all the N settings enabled for my onboard wireless. My old vaio connected with a Dlink PCMCIA Card with N always connected fine to my older DIR 625 under N with N speeds.
Thanks
