I'm stumped. I've typed too many details, but I honestly don't know what to do. Thought I'd ask you guys first before I spend a frustratingly long time on the phone with Sony.

Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100 (yes, Centrino 2)
pc is about two weeks old.
Linksys wireless G 2.4 connected first try and has been solid ever since.
Power Saver mode, battery at about 30%

downloading netflix movie and surfing the net
explorer begins to not find web pages
Then I notice the green bars are not appearing in the tray
No other signals found in my neighborhood
router is still on and works with other laptops in the house
switch is on, wireless indication light above the switch is dark
smart wi connection utility says the power is on/disconnected
tried updating drivers, vista said I already have the best choice:12.0.0.73

The laptop my have gone into hibernation while downloading the movie

I tried deleting the driver and uninstalling the wireless card, but I completely failed in attempting to reload the drivers from the Sony site.

I then used vaio recovery center to restart from a prior date, chose a date before the card failed, rebooted, and everything is working well again!

Good to go! For now?
