    My another sony VGN-Z850G

experiences wifi problems a lot. When streaming videos or using voice/video chat messengers the wifi gets disconnected and the wifi icon has the yellow cross symbol. and when i reconnect, it works properly- this happens frequently while streamin/chat. My roommate has a dell and it is connected to the net even when I am facing the problem. so probably some issue with vaio drivers.

Can anyone please recommend a solution? is there any particular drivers i should download? Please give the specific link to d/l from.

    VGN- Z850G with a Win 7.

A couple of ideas pop into my mind for helping to isolate the issue:
    1. Does the same problem happen when wired directly to the router (CAT5 cable)?
    2. Does the same thing happen regardless of which wireless network it is connected to? (It could just be a problem with your wireless router)
    3. Does anyone have either a USB Wireless or an WiFi Express Card that you could borrow to see if the problem persists even after disabling the built-in (stock) adapter and using only the borrowed adapter?
    4. Does it only happen during a particular activity, such as downloading large files?
    5. Does your router have the latest version of firmware installed from its manufacturer?
    6. Have you tried not using Sony's SmartWi Connection Utility and just using Win7's connection function (which is all you really need)?
