    Hello,

I have a wireless linksys router at home - on one sony laptop I conect wirelessly no problem. I've never enabled password protection as I'm just trying to get wireless working on all devices first. I have a Vgn-sz691n running XP Pro with all the latest drivers from Sony. It sees the linksys but when I click on it it prompts for a password even though the router does not have any password protection enabled. I was going to put in password but it will only accept numbers. I've connected several devices - another sony laptop a game console and a workstation to this router so it is something unique about the drivers or software this laptop is using to try and connect.

    Thanks

Have you tried username "admin" and password "admin"?

Have you checked the manual for the default username and password?

default username would be admin and password is password or admin but as I said there is no wireless password set up and it only takes numbers.

I'm guessing it is an N network thing for intel pro wireless mentioned in section 4.2 of the intel manual.
