I am trying to buy a light weight laptop with high resolution so I can monitor multiple windows simultaneously (work related). I narrowed it down to Vaio SZ, thinkpad T61, and worst and last option Dell M series.

I see all Sony's are 1280 X 800 while I see Thinkpads and Dells have option to go very high on screen resolution.

Currently, I am leaning towards SZ models and waited for new models to come out and it looks like there is no improvement from Sony on their new SZ7* model that is out now with screen resolution.

Does the high resolution on Thinkpad and Dells make less of scrolling when viewing long webpages compared to Sony low resolution?

Well, the SZ uses a 13.3" panel, these are only made in 1280x800 flavors.

Trust me I went to he sony store and whatch blu-ray on two of there laptops on was a 15.4" with 1280x800 the other a 17" with 1920x1200 both where amazing the 15.4" with 1280x800 looked just as good as as the 17" Sony is the master of laptop screens.
