Generally much better to get a third party warranty than Sony's. Square Trade has a stellar reputation and are primary extended wtty suppliers on eBay and Amazon. They charge the same or less and they pledge to fix your computer or cut you a check for the full purchase price paid within 5 business days. Sony is known for doing everything in their power to get out of their wtty obligations - usually blaming the problem on "owner misuse," and they have lots of other hidden fine print that limits their coverage.

Google Square Trade and see what you think. There are others, but it is the best known.

Not heard of them, but Newegg is very respectable. I would Google them both and get professional and consumer reviews. Also, get price quotes from both.
